Education at Sparkling Stars

Nurturing young minds through play, exploration, and learning.

Babies

A child’s first two years are critical for brain and language development. At Sparkling Stars, we believe children learn best through play and interaction. Our programs focus on sensory exploration, fostering curiosity, and building foundational skills for emotional and intellectual growth.

Baby rooms stay unhurried. Soft light, familiar songs, and close adults help the youngest children feel safe enough to reach, babble, and rest. Families share sleep and feeding rhythms so the day at nursery continues the day at home.

Toddlers

The third year of a child’s life is a time of significant change. At Sparkling Stars, we provide supportive and consistent teaching tailored to each toddler’s interests and capabilities. Our experienced staff nurture communication, movement, and individuality during this transitional phase.

Toddlers practise words, choices, and friendships. Resources are low and open so a child can return to the same basket all week and still discover something new.

Preschool

As children transition to preschool, we encourage curiosity and independence through purposeful learning. Our program focuses on critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, preparing children for school and beyond.

  • Managing feelings and behaviour
  • Understanding maths and science
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Developing confident readers

Early years curriculum

At Sparkling Stars, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which sets standards for learning, development, and care for children from birth to 5 years old. Our programs focus on the following areas.

Prime areas

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social, and emotional development

Specific areas

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

Through planned and purposeful play, we create a warm and positive environment where children can thrive and prepare for formal learning. Observations stay with the child, and families hear what their child tried, enjoyed, and is ready for next.
